Lots of people buy and sell items online, with Vinted being a popular choice for many resellers, as people have been known to rake in a lot of money by using the platform. But, even though it also brings people financial success, it can also help to deliver unexpected joy, as one man recently detailed online.

Kev, known as kevthereseller on TikTok, told a pretty amazing story in a recent video clip and it's left people astounded. After deciding to sell an old jumper online, he couldn't fathom where it eventually ended up, and many people would probably struggle to believe the extraordinary tale too.

He recently shared what happened when he listed the item for sale, and the shopping story is totally remarkable. Sometimes amazing things can happen when selling on Vinted, and the platform can do more thanhelp people make money by following some simple rules.

  • Mum shares 'real reason' for buying baby monitor and it's not what you think
  • Man finds receipt in cash machine and is gobsmacked by what's written on it

Kev explained that, back in August, he received a message about an item he was selling on the platform. The man sent an offer, which came in around the £23.00 mark, but he declined it at first.

After some haggling, he messaged to ask if Kev knew anything about the history of the jumper, as he believed his dad actually made it. The jumper had "Anthony Crossland" written on the label, but Kev couldn't find any information about him.

As there was such limited information about the name online, Kev didn't even include it in the product description, and he told the man he actually snapped up the jumper as a part of a bundle at some point. The woman he bought it from had been collecting items for many years, but he didn't really know any more than that.

Kev said: "Anyway, that was it. That was a month ago, and I never heard anything more. He didn't accept the £20.00 offer that I had done, and it just kind of fizzled out, but then I got another offer of £18.00 yesterday.

"I thought, do you know what? I haven't sold it, it's a month later, let's just accept his offer. Let's let him have it. Then came the pretty interesting twist because he said 'I had to have this for my kids - I just found a photograph this morning of my mum modelling it'.

"Like, what? And here it is. So this guy's dad made this particular item, and here it is. So, what, I reckon this is 40 or 50-years-old, and someone is about to buy this because their dad made it.

"Anthony Crossland - I mean that's pretty unbelievable. I thought that is pretty wild. This is going back to the family of someone who once made it. Mental."

Since Kev shared the video, it's been viewed dozens of times, and people have been quick to comment too. Others also seem to think the story is equally brilliant.

One replied with a similar tale, writing: "I sold two 1920s football books. The great-great grandson of one of the footballers' pictured bought them from me."

Another added: "That's amazing." A third also quipped: "He's not very good at bartering, telling you his dad made it whilst trying to do a deal. I do love the circle of buying and selling though."

If you've never heard of Vinted before, it's a popular online marketplace where people can buy and sell pre-owned items, primarily focusing on fashion, but also including electronics, home decor and other items. The goal is to promote a circular economy and reduce waste.
